Annual Gathering

On 10th December at Vadgaon Cultural Centre ,students of SSDS ,Erandwane,portrayed an array of talent through various forms of art like dance and drama.
The event “Kaleidoscope” was a grand success with our honourable chief guest DR Mrs Sunanda Navale Madam gracing the occasion.
The students in vibrant dresses danced on the tunes of Hindi,Marathi and English numbers.An additional of humourous play made it a wonderful evening enjoyed by one and all.


Hindi Diwas


Navratri

Basking in the colors bright. The school looked vibrant in the light. The little ones shone like stars in the night.
All dressed up in wonderful colors to celebrate the Navratri Festival from 1 Oct. to 11 Oct. The joyous celebration brought smile to each face. The importance of the Navratri Festival and its colors was well explained – as symbolizing the victory of positivity over negativity.


Christmas

The melodies of carols filled the air. The school adorned red and green Christmas bells and tree. The Santa and the Fairy brought happiness and joy, There was gladness on the face of every girl and boy. Our little wonders were enthusiastic while celebrating the eve of Christmas on 23rd December by making sandwiches and spending joyous moments with friends ,singing carols and dancing their way.


Palkhi

The Erandwane school was filled with the Vitthal Vitthal Gajar ‘ on 13th July as the miniature Palkhi Utsav was celebrated in the school by the students and staff. Children dressed up traditionally like warkaris added to the spiritual fervour. A colorful palkhi procession with a few children carrying a decorated palkhi with the symbolic ‘Maulinchi Paule’ , few girls carrying ‘Tulsi Vrundawan’ on their head and rest of the children and teachers chanting’ Vitthal Vitthal jai hari Vitthal’ added to the euphoric devotional atmosphere.

The procession reached the school hall where an idol of Lord Vitthal was placed in a handcrafted temple. After the pooja & aarti the procession started from the school hall towards the campus premises. The significance of the festival was explained to the children. Teachers also demonstrated the different games played in the olden days and even now in villages like ‘Jhimma, Phugadi, Atya patya’. Children thoroughly enjoyed the celebration .


Guru Pournima

The Investiture Ceremony of SSDS Erandwane for the year 2016-17 was held on 19th July 2016 along with Guru Pournima celebration. The auspicious occasion began with the lighting of the lamp and everybody paying their obeisance to Maharshi Vyas a renowned ‘Guru’ in Hindu mythology. The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and gusto. The students also presented a beautiful poetic composition praising the ‘ Teacher .. Guru bin kaun bataye baat’ , followed by a speech in English and a poetry recitation in Marathi.
The students were made aware of the election process by conducting a mock election. It familiarized them with the election process and how democracy works. The newly elected student council took an oath to be true to their post and responsibilities shouldered on them. Principal Mrs Anuradha Iyer addressed the students and explained the greatness of a ‘ GURU’ for the Humanity at large.


Independence Day

The 67th Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and fest, at Sinhgad Spring Dale School, Erandwane on 15th August 2016.
The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony followed by the National Anthem. The atmosphere echoed with the patriotic spirit as students sang the National anthem and reverberated with “Bharat Mata Ki Jai’
The Std X school toppers of Board Exam 2015-16 were felicitated with trophies The guest of honor Dr Mrs. Asha Bokil addressed the audience on this auspicious day . In her speech she applauded the efforts of responsible Indians and what Indians can do to make India a Super Power. She appreciated & congratulated the participants of the Rio-Olympics and also encouraged the students to bring glory to the Nation in their fields of interest. The programme concluded with a patriotic song melodiously presented by the students.


Gokulashtami Celebration

Gokulashtami is celebrated to honor the birthday of lord Krishna and as this tradition was beautifully celebrated with enthusiasm by the staff and students of Sinhgad Spring Dale School, Erandwane.
The students were dressed like Lord Krishna and Radha and few dressed up as Gopis and Gopikas. They enjoyed the activity of the symbolic ‘Dahi Handi’. The students also learned the spirit of team work through this activity. The atmosphere was filled with happiness & enjoyment. The ambience was filled up to the brim with gaiety as students danced on the Makhan chori songs with traditional beats.


Ganesh Installation

Sinhgad Spring Dale School, Erandwane celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi the festival of Lord Ganesh, spreading the message of honesty and love through out the world, on this especial day when Lord Ganesh descended on this earth to kill the evil.
The 5 days of the Lord’s presence were filled with a pious & devoted environment. The daily aarti echoed with the devotional chants of ‘Ganpati bappa morya’.
